چکیده

Carney, S. A., Lawrence, J. C., and Ricketts, C. R. (1970). Brit. J. industr. Med., 27, 72-76. Effect of microwaves at X-band on guinea-pig skin in tissue culture. 3. Effect of pulsed microwaves on skin respiration and biochemistry. Small pieces of guinea-pig skin were exposed to known power densities of pulsed microwaves at X-band (9-6 GHz). The pulse duration was 0 25 microsecond and the pulse repetition frequency 4 KHz. The peak power was thus 1,000 times the mean power. Otherwise conditions were closely comparable with those of previous experiments using continuous microwaves. After exposure the skin was maintained on a nutrient medium in vitro. The respiration of the skin and the uptake of 35S-sulphate, 32P_ phosphate, and 14C-L-proline into skin constituents were reduced by exposure. The reduction was very similar to that observed after exposure to the same mean power density of continuous microwaves. The effects are believed to be attributable to heating of the skin.

Guinea-pig Skin in Tissue Culture

Small pieces of guinea-pig skin were exposed to a uniform field of microwaves at X-band (8,730 MHz). Measurements showed that 26%of the incident energy was reflected, 34% was absorbed, and the remaining 40% was transmitted. Absorbed energy was converted to heat, causing a rise in the temperature of the skin. After exposure to microwaves the skin was maintained in vitro on a nutrienmedium. Uptak...

Evaluation of Protective Effects of Nano-formulated Silymarin Against UV Radiation on Guinea Pig Skin

Background: As increased outdoor activities of people, they are more exposed to UV radiation, which causes harmful effects on skin. Silymarin has protective potentials against DNA damage and non-melanoma skin cancers, and also it has anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, and immune regulation characteristics. Nano formulation of plant material showed to be more effective than common ones.   Object...

Effect of Anodal and Cathodal Microamperage Electrical Stimulation on Injury Potential and Size of Acute Wound in Guinea Pig

Introduction: It is believed that injury potential has a regulatory role in wound healing process and the application of exogenous electrical stimulation may serve to mimic the natural endogenous bioelectric current so that can improve the wound healing. Up to now, this hypothesis has not been researched in surgically acute wounds. Materials and Methods: Thirty nine male guinea pigs were random...

Effect of Matricaria chamomilla extract on the electrically stimulation of ileum of guinea-pig in invitro model

Previous studies indicate that Matricaria chamomilla (MC), a folk remedy plant, is very useful in the treatment of spasmogenic bowel diseases but the way of its action is not clear. For this purpose, we studied the effect of MC extract on the electrically activation in Guinea-Pig ileum in an invitro model. We used guinea pig in this study. After of kill, we brouhght out a piece of ileum and fix...
